Route & Schedule

The 4.1-mile route starts in Lower City Park and winds along the Iowa River down to Terry Trueblood Recreation Area. The run and the walk follow the same route, but there is an option to stop after 2 miles and ride a shuttle to the end of the route.

Some walkers may prefer to take the shuttle to ensure they arrive in time for the closing ceremony at Terry Trueblood, which starts at 10:30 a.m.

Additionally, a shuttle will be available before the start of the event to transport participants from the finish and parking area at Terry Trueblood to the starting area at City Park. Departure times are listed below.

—Shuttle leaves Terry Trueblood to arrive at City Park by 8:35 a.m.

8:50 a.m.
—Mel Schlachter will say a few words about Barbara

9:00 a.m.
—Runners/walkers start from City Park in Iowa City

9:25 a.m.
—6 min/mile runners finish

9:33 a.m.
—8 min/mile runners finish

9:40 a.m.
—10 min/mile runners finish

9:45 a.m.
—Walkers pass by Johnson County Administration Building
—Partway walkers can get a shuttle ride from Johnson County Admin Building to finish area at 10:00 a.m.

10:15 a.m.
—Shuttle leaves Johnson County Admin Building for Terry Trueblood
—Race awards ceremony at Terry Trueblood
—Runners are invited to take a walk around Terry Trueblood (1.7 miles, about a 30-minute walk)

10:25 a.m.
—Partway walkers arrive via bus from Johnson County Admin Building

10:20 a.m.
—Walkers arrive at Terry Trueblood at average walking pace

10:30 a.m.
